Spyder is a Tamil Telugu bilingual starring Mahesh Babu, Rakul Preet Singh and S.J.Suryah in lead roles. Directed by A.R.Muruagoss, Spyder has Santosh Sivan and Harris Jayaraj taking care of Camera and Music. With such huge names and powerful star cast, Spyder has released today amidst tremendous expectations. Let’s see what is in store for the viewer.
Story : (Spoilers ahead)
Siva (Mahesh Babu) is a Spy agent who wants to help people before they get into danger. He does this using technology in terms of tapping public phones. In spite of sensing fear through phone from a girl, he could not save that girl and a woman police officer who were brutally murdered by a unknown criminal. After investigations, Shiva comes to know that this is being carried out by a dreaded criminal Bhairavudu (S.J.Suryah). Why he does this and how Siva nabs him forms the rest of Spyder.
No matter how hard a actor acts for a particular scene, if it is not properly conceived on screen, it becomes useless. Except for the child artiste of Bhairavudu (S.J.Suryah), none of the other artistes could make their presence felt on screen.
After seeing Spyder and thinking of it’s script, one could easily relate it to be Murugadoss movie. But when we see the execution on screen, apart from the childhood episodes of Bhairavudu (S.J.Suryah), none of the other scenes could match the stature of a Murugadoss movie. This is literally surprising as the technical crew comprises of master genius’s like Santosh Sivan camera and Harris Jayaraj music. As a reviewer, we could not imagine pinpointing mistakes from the team who have proved their credibility for their unbelievable work’s earlier. Unfortunately, for some very strange reason that only makers would know, Spyder is very poorly executed on screen. It is completely soulless.

Box Office Prospects:
Spyder had to do a theatrical business of more than 100 Cr share worldwide in all versions to be termed a hit. Movie Bells expects Spyder to do a overall business of less than 40 Cr share and will end up as a huge disaster.
Final Punch: Spyder has a decent plot but surprisingly could not get it right in screen in spite of a proven technical team.
