– Ajaykumar Mudunuri for Movie Bells
Vivekam Vivegam, Telugu and Tamil Versions of Ajith Kumar, Kajal Agarwal starrer is releasing worldwide on August 24 amidst huge expectations. Directed by Siva, Vivekam has music and back ground score by Anirudh, the kolaveri fame and cinematography is handled by Vetri. Vivegam is produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thayagarajan under Sathya Jyothi Films banner.
Vivegam marks Thala Ajith Kumar’s silver jubilee year into movie industry. With such a huge years of experience, Ajith has evolved as one of the most happening star in Tamil Industry through sheer hard work and dedication.
Vivekam/Vivegam also has Akshara Hasan and Vivek Oberoi in pivotal roles.
Director Siva has earlier directed Ajith a couple of times in the form of Vedhalam and Veeram. He also directed couple of Telugu movies before like Sankam, Shouryam and Dharuvu at the start of his directorial career. Before becoming a director, he handled cinematography for several movies that were directed by V.N.Aditya.
Known for his slick action commercial movies, let’s see if Vivekam/Vivegam was able to meet the humongous expectations of Thala Ajith fans.
Ajay Kumar (Ajith Kumar) is happily married to Hasini (Kajal Agarwal). Ajay Kumar and his team are a part of Anti Terrorism squad who operate across the world and successfully nab terrorists. But he falls trap to some of the members of his own team. How Ajay succeeds in over coming his fellow men who are the real bad men forms the rest of the story.
Artiste’s Performance (Spoiler’s ahead):
This is Ajith Kumar’s show all the way. Ajith is seen ultra stylish and extremely handsome as a fearless guy who takes on the baddies single handedly. Ajith has excelled in all forms. Kajal is beautiful as Ajith’s wife and a pregnant women. She acted well in all emotional scenes. Vivek Oberoi is good in the role of Ajith’s friend who betrays him and is the main antagonist. Akshara Hasan is pretty decent in a short but important role as Natasha. She gets killed before the interval. Karunakaran was fabulous and successfully evoked laughter in the first half. Rest of the cast were adequate.
Anirudh’s music and back ground score is the major highlight of Vivekam. His back ground score made Vivekam looks racy. Cinematography by Vetri is top notch and has captured the locales of various foreign locations brilliantly. Direction by Siva could have been better. He has taken too much of cinematic liberties in projecting Ajith and one wonders why he made Kajal sing at the climax fight. That particular scene spoiled the show. Production Values by Sathya Jyothi Films is filled with grandeur and all frames looked lavish and very rich.

Box Office Prospects:
Made on a very huge scale, box office prospects look bleak for Vivegam. Though it is lavishly made, many illogical scenes and over the top action spoiled the show.
Final Punch: If you can ignore the illogical scenes that creep up every ten minutes in the name of cinematic liberty, then you may watch once for its lavishness and racy genre.
